One thing that has not changed from 2019 to 2020 is standard Subaru Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive to give Holmen drivers confidence behind the wheel. Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive is legendary for its unmatched traction, control, and stability by evenly supplying and shifting power to all four wheels. Both Legacy models have two BOXER engines to choose from that are paired with the Lineartronic® Continuously Variable Transmission and available paddle shifters. However, the 2020 Legacy is more powerful and more fuel-efficient with its two new BOXER engines.

    2019 BOXER engines:
  • 2.5L four-cylinder - 175 horsepower - 34 highway mpg.
  • 3.6L six-cylinder - 256 horsepower - 28 highway mpg.
    2020 BOXER engines:
  • 2.5L four-cylinder - Auto Stop-Start Technology - 182 horsepower - 35 highway mpg.
  • 2.4L Turbocharged - 260 horsepower - 32 highway mpg.

Interior Dimensions:

The all-new 2020 Subaru has grown a little in size from the 2019 model year and is still the most spacious midsize sedan on the road. Sparta drivers will now have 105.6 cubic feet of luxurious seating for five passengers with more premium materials and upholstery options. The 2020 Legacy also has more truck volume, 15.1 cubic feet, and more rear legroom, 39.5 inches, than the previous model.

Subaru Safety:

Safety is just one more thing that Subaru excels at and something that draws La Crosse, WI to the Legacy. Both the 2019 and 2020 Legacy models come standard with Subaru's award-winning EyeSight Driver Assist Technology. The 2020 Legacy, however, features the latest version of EyeSight that now incudes Lane Centering as part of the Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control. Another new safety feature for the 2020 Legacy is Subaru's all-new DriverFocus Distraction Mitigation System that monitors the driver to alert them with audible and visual alerts when they exhibit signs of distracted or drowsy driving. Both model years offer the all of the same safety features; LED Steering Responsive Headlights, Subaru STARLINK Safety & Security with Automatic Collision Notification, Reverse Automatic Braking, High Beam Assist, Blind Spot Detection and Rear-Cross Traffic Alert.

Trim Levels & Features:

The 2020 Legacy has one more trim level for Sparta drivers to choose from and two trim levels that are powered by the turbo BOXER engine. The 2019 Legacy only has 5 trim levels and only one is available with the 3.6L six-cylinder BOXER for more powerful performance. The 2020 Legacy also has several new features as well as the latest STARLINK multimedia system that is available with a stunning 11.6-inch touchscreen. Other features that are only offered on the 2020 model include 4G LTE Wi-Fi, heated and ventilated front seats, 180-degree front view monitor, and the SI-DRIVE Performance Management System.
