There are two powerful BOXER engines powering the 2019 Subaru WRX. The WRX has a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder BOXER with twin-scroll turbocharger with intercooler to generate 268 horsepower and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. While the WRX STI utilizes a 2.5L BOXER with turbocharger with intercooler that produces 310 horsepower and 209 lb.-ft. of torque thanks to a new high-flow intake and revised exhaust. Making the 2019 WRX STI the most powerful WRX ever. Onalaska drivers have the option to choose between a fully synchronized 6-speed manual transmission or Sport Lineartronic™ transmission with paddle shifters on the WRX Premium and Limited. The WRX STI is exclusively available with fully synchronized close-ratio 6-speed manual transmission.

The WRX STI features Driver Controlled Center Differential to vary the front/rear torque distribution for quicker and smoother response and Brembo Performance Brakes.
